Caution: UVC LED emits harmful ultraviolet radiation that can cause skin and eye damage. Direct exposure should be avoided. LED is a current-operated device. The slight shift of voltage will cause a big change in current, which can damage LEDs. It is recommended to use resistors in series for over-current protection. To ensure consistent light-color on multiple LEDs connected in parallel, individual resistors should be used separately, as shown in Circuit A. Too high ambient temperature will affect the brightness of the LED and its properties. Therefore, it should be kept away from heat sources to maintain optimal performance.
Storage: Recommended storage conditions before unpacking: Temperature: 5℃30℃; Humidity: below 60% RH. Dehumidification should be done before use when stored for more than 2 months at 60℃/12 hours. After opening the package, the suggested storage requirement is temperature in 530°C and humidity below 30%. The UVC LED is sensitive to humidity and should be stored in a sealed container with a desiccant or nitrogen moisture-proof cabinet to avoid moisture absorption. The moisture-proof level of LED is MSL3. The component should be used within 168 hours (7 days) after unpacking and be welded as soon as possible. If the component is exposed to the air for more than 168 hours (7 days) or the desiccant is expired, it should be dehumidified before use.
Electrostatic Protection: Due to the sensitivity of UVC LED to electrostatic discharge, it may be damaged by electrostatic discharge or overload current, resulting in excessive leakage current, low VF, or inability to illuminate. Therefore, the following precautions should be taken: Anti-static wristbands or gloves should be worn when handling the LED. Grounding protection should be provided for all machinery, equipment tools, work tables, and material racks, etc., with an impedance of within 10Ω. Anti-static bags, anti-static boxes, and anti-static turnover boxes should be used for storage or transportation. Never use plastic. It is recommended to use an ion fan to suppress electrostatic generation during operation. The voltage of the static field should be less than 100V in a 1-foot radius from the LED component.
Clean: It is recommended to use isopropyl alcohol or other alcohol solvents rather than corrosive solutions to clean the UVC LED. Avoid direct exposure to ultraviolet radiation during cleaning. Proper protective equipment and precautions should be taken to prevent skin and eye damage from UV radiation.
