Caution: Deep UV LED Chips are a current-operated device. The slight shift of voltage will cause a big change in current, which may damage the LEDs. Therefore, customers should use resistors in series for Over-Current-Proof.
To ensure consistent light-color on multiple LEDs connected in parallel, individual resistors separately are suggested, as Circuit A below shown. If the light-color of each LED shown as Circuit B might be different due to the different I-V characteristics of each LED.
Exposing the Deep UV LED Chips to high ambient temperature will affect their brightness and properties. Hence, it is advised to keep them away from heat to maintain optimal performance.
Storage: The recommended storage conditions before unpacking: Temperature: 5℃~30℃; Humidity: below 60% RH. Dehumidification should be done before use when they are stored for more than 2 months. Conditions should be at 60℃/12 hours.
The suggested storage requirement after opening the package is a temperature between 5~30°C and humidity below 30%. Deep UV LED Chips are sensitive to humidity and should be stored in a sealed container with desiccant or nitrogen moisture-proof cabinet to avoid moisture absorption after unpacking. The moisture-proof level of the LED Chips is MSL3.
The component should be used within 168 hours (7 days) after unpacking and should be welded as soon as possible. Dehumidify the component when it is exposed to the air for more than 168 hours (7 days) or when the desiccant has expired.
Electrostatic Protection: Deep UV LED Chips (especially the ones in InGaN structure) are sensitive to electrostatic that would damage their structure, causing abnormal performance after being attacked by electrostatic or overload current. Examples of such performance include excessive leakage current, low VF or inability to illuminate. Therefore, the following precautions should be taken:
Anti-static wristband or anti-static gloves should be worn when touching the Deep UV LED Chips.
Grounding protection should be done for all machinery and equipment tools, work tables, material racks, etc. (within 10Ω of grounding impedance).
Use anti-static bags, anti-static boxes, and anti-static turnover boxes for storage or transportation. Never use plastic.
It is recommended to use an ion fan to suppress electrostatic generation during operation.
The voltage of the static field should be less than 100V in a 1-foot radius from the LED component.
Clean: To clean Deep UV LED Chips, it is recommended to use opropanol or other alcohol solvents rather than corrosive solutions.
